We are looking to add an experienced EST Programmer, this is a great opportunity for a full time position with great benefits. Candidate must be self-starter, self motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision at times. Must have previous experience in servicing and inspecting of Fire, Access, Intrusion, and CCTV systems. A valid and clean NYS Drivers License is highly desirable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties and responsibilities of an equivalent level Troubleshooter as needed
  • Program medium- to large-sized projects and corresponding fire alarm panels
  • Enter field devices in software, message all field devices, and write rules for sequence of operation according to FDNY and LI FM code.
  • Install components and prewire fire alarm panels, ensure correct field and component wiring, and identify proper voltage output on all system components
  • Troubleshoot field devices and circuits
  • Conduct FDNY pre-test
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used
  • Generate system status reports upon completion of troubleshooting work
  • Maintain positive client relations through professional interactions with clients

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of computers and software application
  • Knowledge of EST fire alarm systems, operation, and functionality
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and schematics, sequence of operation
  • Understanding and application of NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm codes
  • Knowledge of EST fire alarm products
  • Proper use of hand tools (meter, toner, etc.)
  • Understanding of electronics theories and principles (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC, etc.)
  • Proficiency in report-writing procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate the safe use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment required
  • Basic project management skills
  • Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
